We lost our Curr in August 2021 and just had to say goodbye to our Doberman/Rott mix in December. My wife had her heart set on a French Bulldog but I finally talked her out of it as we live in Minnesota and I was desperate not to have a dog that couldn't go out on its own in the snow to do its business. While making the drive to Denver at Christmas (thanks Southwest) she was researching breeds and decided a Goldendoodle(sp?) would be a viable replacement for a Frenchie. On the way home from Colorado I made the mistake of suggesting she find a breeder with a litter that we could stop to meet and see what we thought of the pups and the parents so she did and we all fell in love (duh). Put a deposit on one of the female pups, mom and dad are both goldendoodles, mom is about 40 pounds and dad was 60 so hopefully we'll be in that range with the pup. Looking for any and all advice from those who have these dogs on what we should expect and any tips on the training. We live out in the country but don't have much land and currently don't have a fence though I would be willing to put in an electric fence if they tend to be runners, our previous dogs never had any desire to roam outside of our yard.
