    Nail Ranch

I just talked to a fella that said his investment group(Bandera something) bought 19,000A of the Nail Ranch. Has anyone heard about this? Just wondering if it's true?

I've heard of the Nail Ranch, but I didn't think it was big enough to give up 19,000 acres. I haven't heard about anyone buying it, but if they did from what I know and understand its a heck of an investment!

hhhmmm - I have not heard anything of a sale at the Nail. Would be interested to know if it is true. The Nail is one of those ranches that I never expected to sale any of their property. Of course I guess if the price was right it would be hard for them to pass up. I'll be watching this thread to see if any more info transpires

I believe that parts of the Nail Ranch have been sold in the past and that there was a huge tract for sale. I guess it sold. Maybe Buck Nail will come shed some light on the sale.

I Googled - Nail Ranch sold- and found the website of Chas. Middleton, a farm/ranch broker in Lubbock. Looks like they were listing the property and they are showing a 19,000+ acre tract of the Nail as "SOLD".

You know, I was thinking about buying about 30 square miles or so for a little "weekend getaway place", I just haven't gotten around to it. That's what I get for procrastinating...

Know what you mean. Just slip out at lunch, hit the ATM and make the purchase. It just seems to slip the mind
                    Maybe tomorrow.

I heard late last year that the owner of the Galvan, and many other ranches down south and west, offered $1K an acre for the Callahan and was told no thanks. That would be about $80-$90mil I guess. Didn't know the Callahan was for sale but if it is, they are looking for more than $1k an acre.

Somebody had to want that place real bad to offer $1K per acre! That seems waaaaaaay high for that much of that kind of land!

Trailboss, that land would probably be $1300 - $1900 an acre split up. It's obvious that the person who supposedly made the offer isn't hurting $$ wise.

My dad was terribly dissapointed this past Christmas, not to find the deed to the Waggoner in his stocking. Seems like she's on the block for 350 million or so...
