Correct! I've been to Grapevine once. Caught fish on brush and rocks but it's been so long I couldn't tell you where we launched much less where we fished!

If todays show is the last day of the American Crappie Trail national championship we should be on the show! Deleted a buncha kids crap on the DVR so hopefully it will pick it up this week. Missed seeing last weeks show.

My cable company doesn't offer the Pursuit channel.

Heck, I don't even have cable.

The fish are biting and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

Do any of yall still catch crappie in shallower water in summer months or are they all out deep? By shallower I mean 6 to 8 ft

I love to fish shallow water. I will fish it year-round even though I know I would catch more deeper. Been catching good fish in less than 8 feet. Best fish been coming in about 3 feet of water.

Hopefully the pros will chime in but back when I fished a lot my best friend in summer for shallow crappie was shade shade and then more shade. Boat stalls and boat houses were always productive once the sun was up a bit. Crappie love shade.

All depends really on the reservoir. A lake with docks in 8ft of water thats a shallower reservoir will have some crappie like Gumboman said because of the shade and they cant get deeper. Take a lake like Rayburn that has no docks or bulkheads, you are not gonna catch alot if any this time of year without fishing timber, brush piles, bridge pilings ect. We been catching some at 10 to 12 ft of depth but there in 16 to 25 ft of water. Just my 2 cents. I'm no pro but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.....maybe Slew will add his 2 cents in.
