2023 crappie thread!!!

Texas State championship on Fork this weekend. I’m sure they meant to put N Conroe. Hopefully get to poke around some before Friday. I’m catching solid fish, but not solid enough. Bites been pretty good all over. Haven’t thought much about the deer lease yet. I love fall and winter fishing!

Sitting in 4th after day one. .48 off the lead. Need to have a good day tomorrow. I have 4 days left in November! Gonna hunt some in December and hopefully chase ducks more this year. Well I say hunt. Drive the kiddos to the stand and try and talk em outta stuff! Fishing is great right now on N Conroe! All of em!!

Started day 2 in 4th and stayed in 4th when it was over. Needed to have a big day 2 and didn’t. Went up .2 on day 2 but it wasn’t enough. Needed to go up a pound. Still had a blast and caught a ton of fat health fish. Big fish were just really scattered. Had to cover a lot of water to find them. Lots of ducks on the lake. Kinda had me thinking about hunting season! Today’s weather helps too!

Congrats on a check slew! It isn't tourney day if it isn't raining and windy! I was fishing for ditch pickles at a buddy's place. We did catch one crappie!

Had a solo today on N Conroe! Ricky had a sack of hammers. We threw back anything under 1.25 I bet. Most were 1.5-1.75. He left with a gallon and a half of fillets. Man it's gonna be hard to kill a deer with fish biting like this unless I hit one with the truck on the way to the lake, which could happen! Had 2 bucks run across the road this morning chasing does on the way to the lake.

Brian Sowers passed away today. Sad day. He will always be the voice of crappie fishing to me.

Slabs got a week off! That's enough time! Trying to figure out when I can get to some new lakes but hard to work it in my schedule! So many Conroe's so little time.

I'm headed to mid-lake T-Bend tomorrow. It has been a long time since I have been around Palo Gaucho, and it was always for bass. Hope I can snatch a few.

Toledo was a fun lake!! I bet it was sporty the last couple days there! Wind was tough here all week. Yard work weekend with the family up here. Slabs are safe till next week!
