    Tag Soup 2022

For the first time in like 18 years I did not draw blood with my bow. Not even a single hog. Nothing. Na-da. Zip-de-do-dah! Tag soup has some extra salt and spice in it this year. And it isn't for lack of trying, either. I hunted nearly every weekend and took off some time, too.

    Anyone else?

Right here. In fact, I only got two actual sits in for myself due to other commitments and constraints.

Hoping to take some of that frustration out in some feral hogs though, starting as early as next weekend, but that’s assuming some actually show because they all but disappeared due to the acorn abundance after that Labor Day-ish rain.

I had the same thing for the season but mine was more a choice. Drought hit us pretty hard out west and I just couldn't find anything to shoot that I didn't want to see next year. I did limit out on being a world class camp ***** ....but with that, I made some tag soup doing it.. Wasn't to bad. Hopefully with these winter rains we get some in the spring to help kick them off and it pays off.

Yeah, I almost ate tag soup till yesterday
This drought has messed up the season, everybody says acorn lol , we don’t have acorns around here, delusional to blame the acorns for bad weather

We passed a ton of deer does & bucks , I feel terrible for the guys next door on the McCormick pasture, they whacked and stacked till I never saw a deer driving through from thanksgiving on

Didn’t hunt quite as much as normal due to some health issues, but didn’t get squat ! Some of it was my fault, I passed two different bucks, one too early one morning and one too late. My right eye has retina problems and I can’t see well at dusk or dawn. Those were my opportunities and I muffed ‘em !

Outside of a doe a couple weeks ago, tag soup for Texas and Kansas.

Tag Soup on the bucks, saw tons of them and even some legitimate shooters but with the drought we had in Central Texas i couldn't make myself throw a projectile their way. Did score on a couple of slickheads. Hopefully a little supplement and timely rains a lot of those passes will be on the hit list next season.

Tag soup over here, I didn’t put in the time though. Things came up and I just didn’t put boots on the ground early enough this year

I killed a cull 8 but didn't see anything else that I couldn't pass up until next year. Antler growth definitely suffered this year. Did kill about a dozen hogs with 2 being 200lbs plus, so not a terrible year.

Tag soup here. Too much of a decline due to drought. On the bright side, I saved a lot of money on gas.

                          YES! And it sooks.

So many reasons the season and last year in general was not good.

But trying to stay positive and count my blessings.

                            Having the same here.

Nothing at the house motivated me this year and only got one draw hunt in and it started great but quickly fizzled out.

Heck I just checked a couple of traps in shorts and a T shirt, very wrong for being Jan 2
Hopefully all the bucks will have a better year ahead and grow more antlers
Have not had a pig pic in daylight in forever either

I have unfilled tags from Texas, Nebraska, and Missouri.. I guess that means I'll have a heartier soup than you.
