This was my old do-net that I flat wore out at the Chandeleur's a few years ago...

Looks like a dipnet was a must. Is that an inflatable life jacket you are wearing? I think my old arse needs to get one

I never thought about setting up my stringer like that...next time I wade w my stringer i'm gonna try it. Good idea. I have a friend that likes his wading ring a lot. Looks like its easier to open than the fish bags, dose it pull on you much while your fishing?

Not at all, but you don't want to hook it in your back cast.

Yessir Billy that's an inflatable... I wear one when I fish the surf for sure.. Sometimes I use it to get across a gut to the next bar or a drainage in the back bays... That particular day, we were on the surf side of the Islands standing shoulder to shoulder snagging big trout every cast... (well some of us were... those that couldn't get the retrieve down couldn't catch 'em very well... I was ON on that trip... Three days non-stop and my PB trout... a 28 1/2 incher...

Gota a question about PB trout. I grew up with a dad and grandfather that only talked about a trouts weight and we were all after the 10 pounder. How do you measure your PB? inches and weight? Just weight or Just inches?

                  Inches. 27&3/4 is my best.

Inches. I don't carry anything to weigh with & let fish of that size go as quick as I can with as little handling as possible.

Headed to the Florida panhandle a week from today. Surf rods in tow, 6 days of surf fishing, 1 day on a snapper charter, and a night of bowfishing for rays. Cant wait!

Way back when it was pounds, I think that carried over from the freshwater guys coming into the sport. Over the last couple decades it has become about inches. I go by inches but I would sure like a double digit trout.

Yup inches but my dad always talked in pounds. My best is a little over 27. Thought it was a red as she was right in the middle of a school of reds feeding hard up against the bank in East Matty.

My PB is 29 1/4 but a lot of the older guides still go by weight and length; the ultimate being over 30" and over 10lbs

Inches don't go away, weight can swing a pound or more during the year.

Any one hitting the water this weekend? In about two hours, I'll be headed south to good ol Sargent! Fishing East in the morning, looking forward to jumping in the water.
