And I cant believe you think anyone around this thread takes this banter serious enough to get pissy

I think it's easy, except when it's hard, I just don't want anyone else to think it's easy. I just need a lot of practice, like a Doctor. LOL

I was in POC this weekend & a few of us were talking about some sizeable sharks being present in the back lakes, supposedly a big one in Fish Pond as well as Pringle. It's sure time to change the limits on sharks.
Didn't put the boat in the water this weekend but did get to spend some time with a local Gator
This 6' gator is not shy or afraid of people. He was down the ditch past Froggies & really got interested in a young Black Lab that was on a nearby dock. I actually have some cool video of him but not sure if I can get it to load on here.

I've about had it with these saltwater gators. They need to get back into the fresh where they belong. Last fall there was a big one, thick, that would visit the Froggies dock late at night when everyone's gone. We watched him go back and forth to the land across the way. I guess he's looking for fish scraps or something.

I have video of him biting my wife's Pink Popping cork several different times, she wanted to cast her new reel a few times & one of our friends wife just had hip replacement surgery so we were land locked & let them waste some frozen shrimp, wife actually was having fun messing with the gator, I pleaded with her not to hook that big lizard.

There were floating redfish carcasses but he would bite & drop them. We were at the end of Scurlock St. He sure wanted that young Lab to get in the water.

Man that's spooky, sounds like he may have had a taste.

In September when the gator seasons open (I guess?) we get them across the bay at camp, you'll see the tracks where they come out of West Matty and into the ponds. I *guess* the hunting activity pushes them out and the swim completely across the bay. Three distinct sets of tracks last year, one of them things was effin huge.

There have been quite a few gators down near Shoalwater/Charlies the past few years. A dog disappeared from the boat ramp a year or two ago. When I kayak across I always have a few and have seen a real big one on the IC island

I'm heading down to Matagorda on Thursday for a weekend of fishing. Planning on focusing on East Bay with an emphasis on drifting and wading. I'm still trying to learn Matty. Any reports or advise would be much apreciated. The conditions look favorable IF the forecast holds.

MANY years ago when there were no houses out on the penninsula/island because of the jetties, a buddy of mine (there were a bunch of us wading) caught a 6-7 foot gator on a gold Johnson Sprite! He was about 20 yards off the bank wading into a little pocket with his back to the shoreline. He cast out and was working that spoon back in. Just before he raised his rod to pick it up, that dang gator crashed the spoon from behind him!! ...talk about walk on water!! He actually landed it. We were at the old coral pens in that little cove... We messed around with him for a bit, then let him go. Last time we saw him he was just cruising paralleling the shoreline headed toward the jetties!

Back then if anyone would have told me that gators live in saltwater, it'd have told them they were crazy!!
