    Buck Candy

So I was having a conversation with a buddy and we are torn what kind of extra attractions we need in the feed pen!?!? Is buck candy worth it? Anyone still use it!?!?

All of us at Johnny Apple Seed Feed Co. are committed to making the best wildlife attractant on the market today. You will see that is company is innovative and we plan to expand our formula for a variety of animals including deer, hogs and even bears in near future.

Haven’t seen that stuff in a long time. We used to put it in our feeders but it attracted more hogs than deer.

I still use it. I like the smell of it, I am not sure if the deer do or not.

Did you use the original stuff too? Is it the same?

I like buck candy but lately my friend has seen great success mixing in a bag of double down when he fills his feeders. He has more animals coming around and staying longer. This is near Eden Texas.

Didn’t the buck candy guys get caught shooting penned deer while claiming their product was the difference maker? Seemed to turn a lot of people off. I bought one of the original jugs and my deer didn’t like it

The real buck candy is from the Mars plant in Waco. 30 gallon kegs of trash skittles and what ever else they ran that day. Deer dig that lick.

I have used it for several years, but I do not know if I used the original or not. I haven’t noticed any difference in the smell. I believe full o pep adds it to their apple scented corn. At least that’s what the guy at the hunter’s expo told me.

Late season is not the time to introduce anything new. Whatever magic potion you are going to try. Start it after you are done hunting for the year. Stick to it all off season. Reference threads about cotton seed or protein. Sometimes it will turn deer away for awhile. Just my nickels worth of advice.

I like to keep a feed block out year round. Multiple salt/mineral blocks.

20 yrs (or maybe longer ago) I had a connection at a Mrs. Bairds distribution. I would pick up cinnamon rolls. Donuts. Bread. You name it weekly. This was outdated items they could no longer sell. I scared every deer off for 5 counties. But invited every coon, hog, squirrel from 15 counties. Eventually the deer returned. They got diabetes I am sure... but was great hunting on Thursdays when I would drop off all the sweet treats.

Believe the dude shot a buck in a small pen that was first offered to a TBH’er for a pretty penny. That’s my recollection anyway. The guy tried to claim it as a legit kill and the TBH’er posted up some pics they had sent him in advance that showed it wasn’t much of a hunt at all. Maybe it had an ear tag or something, can’t remember all the details.

If memory serves…a TBH’r had sold that deer to the ranch as a kick n shoot.

Yup.. .. TBHer Stupid was the whistleblower. And that was after the owner of Buck Candy had posted the LDP claiming that he drew that buck in with Buck Candy and he’d have probably not seen him without it [emoji23][emoji23]. Big fake Buck Candy pimp job on a kick n pop deer.

If it worked so well he wouldn’t have to fake it.

It does smell good though. If you have hogs they will thank you.
