A good buddy (TBHer) and his wife got stuck in PA due to cancellations, and are now driving back to Austin, where they originally flew out of. Screw South West Airlines

I’m a little worried as well, have had flight to Colorado with family to watch daughter play basketball thru southwest for a while. It’s a nonstop flight but trying to decide whether to reschedule for day before, stay with what we have or cancel and drive. I hate having our schedule in others hands. Not suppose to fly out until the 6th but who knows if this will all be worked out by then.

BIL was supposed to fly out to Arizona with the family yesterday at 8 am...flight delayed till 3 pm. Flight canceled at 2:30 and said they didn't know when they would be able to get another flight out. So they loaded up and drove.

Brother got stuck in Cancun with it on Sunday night. Canceled. Told them it would be the 30th before they could get them on another flight out. After some hustle and 1.5 days of delay they got a flight on another airline that took them through Mexico City and into San Antonio. Had to rent a car to get back to Corpus. He says it was a cluster f being out of the country in a third world airport.

Family is supposed to leave on Friday for Newport, RI and then back on the 3rd of Jan. Really not looking forward to the PIA that I think it is going to be.

Had family members flying to Orlando out of Amarillo (may have been Lubbock). Flight was cancelled. The attendant told them to drive to Dallas to catch the flight. They got there... flight cancelled.

My sister is supposed to be flying into Love today from Midway-Chicago. Fingers Crossed.

Sister and her family where coming from Los Angeles via southwest, they drove In to Houston arriving a day late, sister found a American airline flight to LAX and left a few days early because of take it or leave it tickets, her husband drove back to California

was suppose to fly out to lake tahoe yesterday but it was cancelled. The earliest flight we could get for any airline is this friday.

My sisters family made it out of DFW last Thursday to Washington but their bags are still at dfw

I've been reading a little more about it this morning. It sounds like they had a meltdown in their outdated crew scheduling software that matches pilots and flight attendants to each flight. Without it they have to try and do the same thing with phone calls and emails - an impossible task when you are talking about thousands of flights. Apparently pilots have been griping for years about Southwest not updating that software

Flew back from Roatan on 12/23. We had connection in Houston and it was packed and the board was starting to fill up with delays and cancellations. Glad we made it back before it really went south

SWA canceled our flight home from Salt Lake City at 12:05am Tuesday morning. The wife saw the text alert around 5am. We started scrambling for other flights, no go. I kept the rental car we were due to turn in and got a one way contract back to Texas.

I’m in the back seat catching up on TBH as the wife drives us across the Llano Estacado.

One he!! of an unexpected road trip! Good lesson for my 17yr old, be decisive. The lady at Enterprise said I wouldn’t have been able to get a car if I had already turned ours in.

Still no fights from SLC to Austin listed.

Driving a Toyota Camry over Soldier Pass yesterday was fun!



We made a little lemonade and spent three hours at Arches National Park yesterday.

I was affected, but luckily it turned out good for me. I think these cancellations are the worst. Furthermore, I wanted to spend Christmas with my family in another state. But the flight was canceled and the next was in 20 hours. I really wanted to get there, as my siblings and cousins I haven't seen in ages were the first time there, and they were only going to stay one evening. I decided to take the private jet aerialjets.com, and it helped me to be in time. Though my relatives were a bit surprised, when I told them that was actually affordable; moreover, I had been given the compensation from the airlines' company canceling the flight.
