Could it have been a drill that broke and was turned into an awl?

Just guessing. I am inclined to go with GG.

Absolutely. These are very specifically made. It's nice. The graver makes it classic. It may very well be a Clovis artifact. It's a framer to me.

Wow, I thought it was something they had been worked but didn’t know it was that nice. This was probably something carried and taken care of.

A good family friend would frequently host my family to his ranch in west Texas. One of his favorite hobbies out there was to search for native artifacts. If he found something that looked “worked” but didn’t look like an arrowhead he always called it a “scraper” or a “grinder” He once found a phallic shaped rock at his best arrowhead hunting spot and loved to hold it up and say that he was pretty sure it was a paleo love enchanter because it was “rock hard”.
