Best place in New Mexico to take family skiing during spring break?

I grew 50 miles from Ski Apache and went a lot as a kid. Developed a love for it so I went to college in Gunnison, CO. Was fortunate to ski Crested Butte for six seasons.
Spring break advice in NM:
Monitor percentage open for all NM ski resorts, depending on storms, going north could be a ton better while only adding a few hours to you drive. Angle Fire can be less crowed if there’s a lot of snow and Taos is slammed.
We just landed in Salt Lake City this afternoon. Can’t wait to hit Park City tomorrow!
Merry Christmas gents!

Park City is looking really good right now as does Jackson Hole. Our visit last year was below average not do to snow but lack of lift operators working. Hopefully Vail Resorts has worked out their employment issues that plagued them last year.

I'm sitting in the ER in Toas at 4am, wife is having issues with elevation and has medical conditions. Looks like we will be cutting this vacation short.

I love Red River these days. Chill town and a couple of good black runs. It suits the older bosrder in me just fine. Hit Taos one day for some hardcore stuff.
Spring Break? Maybe brave the crowds in Colorado for good snow?
It's way too early for snow now. I always wonder why people try to go before New Years.

Depending on age and skill level, Angel Fire or RedRiver may be a better starting point for the group. Toas has the better ski school but the mountain can be intimidating for some I've been told. I really think most of the blue runs at Toas are fairly wide and easy and so does my wife. The green runs are probably the issue being narrow cat walks cuts crossing other runs.
Snow shouldn't be an issue unless considering Ski Apache. Wolf Creek is also a good option but 2hrs further north. Guaranteed to get dumped on the first week of March. It's currently 100% open and has been for a couple of weeks now. Really hoping more snow dumps this week up there since heading to Telluride in 9 days.

Anglefire during some of the metroplex spring break week(s) can be slammed to the point its not fun.
Thousands of beginner skiers - long lines and everyone is skiing into each other.
Anglefire on a slower weekend - after a good snow - is a great mountain to take the family - but I would avoid the spring break. Lots of cabins/vrbos to rent - not much to do as far as dinner etc. though.
