Better feed them exotics big time!

Any of you guys expecting to lose any of your exotics due to this freeze? I hope you guys come out okay!

Will feeding the a bunch extra before the freeze help them make it thru?

This freeze is going to be quick and gone unlike 2020 where it was freezing for a week straight. I doubt many will die this go round unless they are already going down.

That’s great news! It’s showing to get down to 8 degrees at my house and stay below freezing for well over 48 hours. Hopefully, they will eat enough to give them plenty of fat reserves/energy and they find a way to get out of the wind. They are saying the wind chills will be brutal. My feet are cold just thinking about it!

A good wind break would really help.

It does, and in Hill Country there is a consistent wintertime differential in temp of roughly 9 degrees higher at the top while being colder below.

In the summer its quite the opposite.

Sure hope the free range axis at my house will survive because I plan to kill one after Christmas

With little to no moisture and not near as prolonged as 2020 there doesn’t seem to be near as much concern. Will some die? Yeah, but it shouldn’t be anything like 2020.

Axis traps should be hitting hard after this

I don’t expect this freeze to be an issue.

Should be good imo. Got feed and alfalfa out and will be making sure the water is opened up other than that no worries here. We didn't lose many with the hard freeze a couple years ago.
