Help me choose a shooting rest

Hey guys, I am wanting to buy shooting rest for rifle mainly for zeroing in scopes, or trying different ammo. My budget is around $200. I have used a Lead sled or two and i have seen some others, but i wanted to see what yall thought would be the best for that price range. These are a few that i have thought about, but would love to hear the thoughts of the Braintrust! These are on Amazon, but i have seen them cheaper elsewhere, this is just an easy link.

I use heavy sandbags. My son uses caldwell bags.

Walker, i have used sandbags for years as well. i have two sons (one 14 and one 12) and i thought it would be a more accurate way to let them get the scopes sited in. Maybe im off, maybe we should just keep using the bags.

I think bags are unbeatable for traditional stocks. Nit so much for chassis stocks. Use the slope of the butt to adjust elevation by sliding the gun forward or backwards. Works for me for over 50 years.

I would think that you can't go wrong with that Birchwood Casey Alpha. That's the Cadillac of shooting rests.

I've been using a cast iron Bald Eagle Slingshot w/ their rear rest for years...it's above your budget, but maybe keep an eye open for a used one. They also made some in aluminum that should be cheaper.

Having a few of the Caldwell rests mentioned, why not a Harris bi-pod and a rear bag such at the Wiebad cube? Well below budget, multiple uses, and rock solid if set up correctly.

The problem I have with front rests is most hunting stocks are too round and aren’t as stable on a front rest as a good tripod.

I’m with the bipod and rear bag crowd. Can use the sling studs or chassis to move the bipod. I like that you can have the forward pressure to help steady as well. I do have a sled but too big to carry and I don’t like that the recoil is not more natural.
