    Western Hunting Expo - SLC

Has anyone been to this recently? Is this similar to the Texas hunter extravaganza?

if you have been, worth a weekend trip to Salt Lake City?

You can actually apply for some permits there.
They have 200 permits that they draw for, you must go to the Expo to get your chances validated then they draw the next week.

That might be a great time to book a mt lion hunt for yourself as well, big fluffy cats in Feb in Utah I'm betting.

    Read this: https://huntexpo.com/200-permits/

And yes there will be vendors and outfitters from all over.

Hunter's extravaganza doesn't hold a candle to it. Honestly the TTHA Hunter's extravaganza are some of the worst hunting expo's out there.

I'm sure it is a good show- looks like they have a lot of exhibitors and SLC is a good town.
But if you want to save some time and get a jump on convention season, drive 60 miles to the DSC Convention in Dallas from Jan 5-8. We have 900 vendors and tons of Western outfitters. Would love to see a big TBH crowd there.

Yes I was reading up on those opportunities I am planning my western hunting for the next few years, so when I saw this I was thinking a a weekend trip would be fun.
Mountain lion not really in to them but running the dogs and getting to see them work, that would be awesomeness!

Totally agree. I use to think this was to start of the hunting season, but the last few I have been to, well there crap and not fun at all.

Now I am looking at western hunting so, making weekend trips out west to visit those shows strikes me as a fun weekend.

Do you have a role with them? If so, PM me, that's close enough for a drive over to see what's happening.

              I might see you there.

Denver has the International Sportsman's Exposition in mid January.
That one has been pretty good in the past.
DSC was great back in the day, haven't been in a good while but I bet it's still good.
Main draw for the SLC Expo is the chance at some nice tags you can't apply for anywhere else in Utah.

What about the SCI show in Nashville, Feb22-25. Is that a good show to attend?

I always enjoy the show. Gives me a chance to try on and look at western hunting gear that you can’t get around here

SCI show is HUGE, but it is expensive per day entry fee. At least it was in Vegas. Probably the biggest show in the states.
