    Dual fuel small generator

Can anyone recommend a portable-sized propane/gasoline generator of good quality.
Not looking for a full-sized home backup gen, but something for an RV or cabin.

Honda eu3000is, I have 5000 hours on mine and it runs like new. I change the oil every 100 hours.

A buddy of mine has a Westinghouse inverter and that thing is really impressive. I own three different generators right now, probably been through 8 or 9 with fish camp and various things. I like his better than any I've owned and next time I need to buy one I'll be picking one of those up.

Here's the dual fuel version, the features are real impressive and it's extremely quiet, quieter than my little 1600 inverter by far. It's got a gauge telling you how many hours of run time you've got left which is nice when you're drinking and it's time to go to bed wondering if you need to fill the gennie or not lol.

I bought a Honda EU2200i and then bought a propane conversion kit for it.
          Works great!

I have this same unit. Ran it at Chaparral last week. Did a great job on our 34’ camper running everything. Was running on gas not propane. Ran a/c all night and had fuel to spare. Way quieter than the others around (could hear theirs 50 yards off louder than this one 10 feet away).

I have the 4500, it is not the dual fuel but they are exactly the same otherwise.
              I really like it.
I have to confess that the first one I got, something happened with the coil and i had to send it for repair, and when they couldn't fixed it, Westinghouse stepped up and sent a brand new unit, so I had a good experience with there customer service.
the new unit is running great. I only have about 80 hours on it but so far so good. I really like the remote start and how long a tank of gas lasts.

I have a Westinghouse 4500 inverter duel fuel with remote start. The Propane side can be changed to NG with a kit off the web. So, really, a tri fuel. Decibel output was another factor on selecting this gen.

Westinghouse makes a slightly larger duel fuel inverter Gen also.

Buddy fires that one up in camp and doesn't turn it off until we leave. Thanksgiving he ran it 5 and a half days straight nonstop. It's quiet enough it doesn't bother us around the campfire. I fire mine up when we go to bed because it's too loud in the background and makes us raise our voices, even though mine's a little inverter as well.

I saw the champion brand right away when I did a web search, but haven't heard much about the brand.
Everyone knows Honda, but Westinghouse has been around since the advent of electricity.

Honda is the best, but comes with the price tag as well. I and a number of buddies are happy with the Predator from Harbor Freight. My 3500 runs one A/C on the camper easy. We don't, but Get the Warranty and you can swap it within two years- I think it's $100 to swap it and $100 for another warranty on the new one.

I have the champion 3500 too… Ive had it for a year now, starts first crank every time, runs great. Solid machine. Runs everything in the camp, which is completely off-grid and setup like an RV with both 12v and 120v systems and propane appliances.

I also have the honda 2200. It is a whole lot quieter, but it wont run the 1-hp water pump. The inverter generators are also better on gas.

I got rid of a Champion and one of my Generac to get the Westinghouse inverter. It’s day and night difference. Only thing it won’t do is run my 220 water well.
