Trying to program garage door opener in new GMC

I just traded pickups. Traded in my '20 GMC for a '22 Refresh AT4. Everything is great, but I can't get the garage door opener programmed. Opener is 3-4 years old, and it worked with my '20. I've tried both methods from the owner's manual and another method from a YouTube video from a guy that works at a dealership. Still won't work.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get it working? Guy from the dealership will come by my house to help if I don't get it figured out. But I thought I'd ask here first.

I'm having the same problem with my 09 GMC, I gave up but willing to try again.

I guess I haven't tried programming from the old hand held button that comes with the opener. Will try that today.

I had to buy a “receiver” for my 2015 to communicate with my garage door opener. It’s a separate box that plugs into the outlet the garage door is plugged into, you then plug the garage door into the receiver.

My wife’s 2021 Tahoe connected directly to the opener, didn’t need to connect to the additional receiver.

I had the same problem with a Genie opener and it had to many codes in it, I zeroed out the codes and reprogramed the other openers too
        no problem

Yea still a no go for me.

Well I got it, Not sure what I did different this time then last.
          I have the three buttons.
Press the two outside buttons ones for about 2 seconds then all three lights are green
Press the learn button on the garage door opener.
Then press one button inside the truck, the green light for that button started flashing fast and then stopped. Now it works.

Not exactly what it says to do in my manual but it's working. Ok on to the next world problem.

Mine GD opener required 2 people - one in the vehicle and one hitting the learn remote button on the GD receiver.

But that's all I have. I can't get it to open my gate, no matter what I try.

just did my new Chevrolet truck and had some issues. There is a learn key on my garage door opener but i could never get it to work with the truck. I finally had to dig out an old remote garage door opener and use that to program the truck. you hold the opener 1-3 inches away (and push the open button) from the button in the truck until the light flashes. I know mine said you have to reset the truck buttons as well sometimes. I think there are 3 buttons and you hold the outer two buttons for ten seconds to clear it. not sure if that will help any.....

What kind of opener do you have? There are two methods already posted, and I know I have done both of them for our Chamberlin for my wife's car. I don't remember which one worked.

Is your opener Wi-Fi compatible? I actually use this option more than an opener. I can hit it 30 seconds out, and garage door is all the way open when I pull up. If waiting for it to open isn't your sort of thing.

Thanks, y'all. I've tried everything mentioned so far, plus a couple other things.
Still nothing. It worked the first try when programming my son's garage door opener. But something isn't working on mine.

My opener is a LiftMaster (Chamberlain) 8355-267 myQ that was built in 2015. It's wifi compatible, but I've never used that.

Later today, when I get time, I'm gonna call LiftMaster and HomeLink tech support. Hopefully one of them can help me solve the issue.

So after fiddle Fu**ing with my truck, wife gets home and calls me from the driveway and says my openers not working. So just had to reprogram hers. I wonder if mine will work now.

Glad you mentioned this Shane, I just got my new AT4 and couldn’t get mine to work either.

                        I’m loving the new truck

I finally got my issue solved today. I called HomeLink support and discovered that my problem was that my garage door opener remote is a knockoff from Amazon rather than the factory remote from LiftMaster. (My wife loaned our two factory remotes to her parents and they're lost now, so I had bought a couple remotes on Amazon.) The knockoff remote won't talk to my truck's HomeLink system. I went to Lowe's and bought a Chamberlain/LiftMaster remote. Brought that home and paired it with my opener. Then I used it to program the HomeLink button in my truck. Worked as it should.
