    TPWD CWD Survey

Anyone else get a survey email from tpwd? Asked questions like how likely are you to dispose of carcass on property, take to processor, etc. Then at the very end had you choose between 2 options:

    1. Carcass transport regulations: You can only transport a quartered or boned out deer, or a skull cap out of a cwd zone. Spine, skull etc have to stay on property. I think this is already a rule in cwd zones but someone correct me if im wrong.

    2. Disposal regulations: can transport the whole deer wherever but must follow rules on how to dispose of the scraps. Bury it or put in landfill.

I'm paraphrasing of course. Nothing is officially proposed that I know of. Seems like the way its worded they want either option 1 for the whole state (not just cwd areas) or option 2. I'd wager option 1 is what we get and tpwd is just going through the motions to make the transport regs a statewide thing.

I saw the survey, it asked about disposal and carry over after final disposal if burying bones at final destination?

I didn't see that part. If you select "no" on the question about burial it skips page 2. The options for disposal were leave at the kill property, put in a landfill, or bury it.

Basically they are going to shove making us bury carcasses down our throats. There was not an option for keep doing what we have always done.

I am sure TPWD will be sneaking around on our places to see that we are properly disposing of carcasses and issuing up love letters when we don't.

I would go for #2, Wisconsin has designated dumpsters bones must be put placed in CWD zones. They should also have option #3, shut down the deer farmers.

I would 100% vote for #3 , shut down breeding centers and farms
Any deer in Texas should be under the rules of state trust

Received the survey and completed it. Responded that I highly disagreed with statewide transportation restrictions. Having CWD zones and staffing for them is costing TPWD $$. I have a suspicion that they are going to drop state wide transportation regs on us. It is probably more expense motivated vs prevention motivated.

                  TPWD CWD Survey

They’re out of the **** minds.

They are obviously theorizing a state wide policy to dispose of deer guts?

They are the laziest state wildlife agency I’ve ever seen. Shoot 5 duhr down south. Shoot a couple less up north. Catch 5 drum and 3 reds anywhere…. And uh, yeah if you’re in Texas, take your durh guts to an approved disposal site that my brother in law just set up.

I went with option 2, would rather just be trusted to dispose of properly than be completely unable to transport heads without a waiver. Sometimes they're not around to provide waivers. I always leave the spine and carcass where it fell anyway so none of that stuff mattered to me but that could be a strong option 2 for others as well.

I deleted it until I saw this post. Then I went back and completed it.

I got the survey and was disappointed that it didn’t have a comment section. Parks and Wildlife let the disease spread across the state and now they want me to jump through all kinds of hoops? I don’t think so. They can bury their coming restrictions six feet up their keester.

Any ideas how to dig a big enough hole, every time I kill a deer, in ground so rocky we can’t even drive T-Posts?

Just think of it this way, you can pay now for a jackhammer or you can pay in installments (tickets) you get for not following the rules. That's my issue with most of the TPWD regs that have came out in the last few years. We get told it's to fix a problem, don't get any data to back up that claim, but it can be used to make them money.

Exactly! Or here’s a thought, up all the fees or tax deer breeders to pay for all this crap they created
