Buying New Mexico Elk Land

So the cow hunt turned out pretty dang good. Between the tags I got of my land and the fact that I have some really good relationships out there now, I ended up with two groups of friends going with a total of 7 cow tags.
One group was 2 for 3 on cows. The other was 3 for 4. Both groups had opportunities to fill the remaining tags too.
I tagged along and it ended up being the 1st time I have ever hiked out two elk in a single day! That takes a toll, but at least cows are a little lighter than a mature bull, lol!
Today, I just finished up all my 2025 Elk Program paperwork. Several new habitat incentives were entered and then my elk scores were appealed to try and get better score for 2025 on a few parcels.
Hopefully this kicks up a few more tags for next year and more bull tags.
I was fortune enough to draw a high demand muley deer tag too. That tag starts Jan 1st and is good for 14 days.
It's a rut hunt, so maybe that will make these mule deer a bit easier to find! It's a bow hunt too, so I figure get high to glass, find one and the hope I can sneak into bow range. Feels like really slim odds on this one though.
...also just got my Sept bull euro mount back.Last edited by Bulldawg87; 12-26-2024, 09:50 PM.

Pretty dang cool deal you have going man. Keep up the good work and updates!
Gotta start getting selective now...I think!
When they bugle only a few yards away and a bow is in my hand, I may change my mind again, lol.
Plus, they are great eating compared to a whitetail
