There’s a night vision/thermal thread on this forum with a ton of info. I’d Call legacy outdoors, they are great people and can help you out. I’d stay away from atn, they have horrible customer service reviews.

In that range I would look at the Accufire Incendis. Can be used as a monocular, infront of a scope, or as a standalone scope. I have used the Thor and the Rattler and the Accufire blows the thor out of the water and is very close if not better than the Rattler.

For a few dollars more, the Berring Optics super hogster is well regarded

Have you already dabbled in night vision?

I have had good luck with ATN.

I have a buddy that went with the cheap ATN. It was terrible. He had to send it back three times with issues. Finally, he upgraded to one of their higher end thermals and has had no further issues.

              I got ATN Thor 4 640 4x40.

Its incredible. I got it from the ATN store in Grapevine Mills Mall for 3700 and they have a 3 year trade policy in the store. If I want a gen 5 or 6 when they are released, I bring the scope back and they credit the full purchase price towards an upgrade. I was leaning pulsar but this deal was too freaking hot!

Having owned 2 ATN products at first (now i have AGM and pulsar both), i would recommend either 10000x over the ATN

Stay away from ATN. There is a reason reputable shops such as Outdoor Legacy refuse to carry them. Agm, Pulsar and Iray are your best bet in the mid price range.
