    No Brow Tines

I've heard some say that if it doesn't have any brow times, it never will. Any truth to that?

    No Brow Tines

No.... on the never. We've had them show up on deer the next year. Never are they really strong but they do get them

Pretty much what Smart said. I’ve seen bucks drop them one year and grow them the next year.

I’ve had the same experience. No brows one year, a few inch brows the next year.

What they said. Age also. A 1.5year old without br I was may make a great deer. A 4 year old without brows will probably always have weak brows.

Kinda what I was thinking but wanted to hear from the green screen.

Had a friend that told everyone to shoot any buck with no brows no matter the age. Set his program back years due to killing out entire age groups or almost entire age groups of deer!

Had a BIG 6 on a ranch I hunt. He was off limits because he was a camp deer. When he was 6 he finally made an impressive 8.

short brows of weak brow tines will never have high scoring long brows. We killed all mature deer with no brows. There are always exceptions

Seem like short brows are the common thing on our place in brown county. We rarely see deer with long brows.

We kill anything over 3.5 that has no brows.

One thing I observed hunting North of Brady over the years was during drought years we would see quite a few deer with no or weak brows. The following year with wet weather they would be back to normal, maybe not great by some standards but maybe 4" or so. Wasnt a trophy lease but good deer would be 140-150 with an opportunity of seeing one over 160.

Usually I kill em. But lots of variables. This year? Drought was bad. Let em walk.
