    Best cookware or set?

Tired of buying a new pot or pan here and there and just want to bite the bullet and do it right regardless of cost. I'm seeing All Cad a bunch but was curious there if are any others to be looking at? Figured now would be time with black Friday and what not.

I’d look into this set https://www.all-clad.com/11-inch-nonstick-set.html. It’s an 11-pc set as you’re likely only gonna use 3-4 of the pots & skillet. Consider buying 3-4 of the above pcs. and the items below

Buy a 6qt and 9qt enamel cast iron Dutch ovens. On sale right now at Bed Bath and Beyond. https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/sto...ds&pickup=true

Target and Amazon also have enamel Dutch ovens. Le Crueset and Staub are the best if you’re a baller. Lodge is the best value for $$ spent

Rule of thumb for DO’s is 1qt per serving. I use the DO for gumbo, soup, and lots of other meals

I use all clad and made in. Not the highest cost but great sets.

Tose All Clads are nice but out of my price range. We just got a set of Green Pans about 4 months ago from Costco and love them so far.

All Clad is some fine stuff, expensive but will most likely last you a lifetime.

I cook a lot and the best pots, pans, and skillets I’ve ever used are made by All-Clad. They have several lines, but I like their Tri-ply line. Of course, if you’re just looking to spend money, their 5-ply line is top tier (I have a few pieces but not the whole line).

While All-Clad is what I use 90% of the time in the kitchen, there are a few times I deviate from it. For example, my cornbread, biscuits, fried chicken, and fried okra are always cooked in cast-iron. And to round things out, a large enamel-coated cast iron Dutch oven is great for meaty soups and stews. Somehow, it cooks the meat to a tenderness I can’t get in other cookware. Staub makes a great one but be prepared to sell your first born in order to finance it.

Aint no way a pot and pan set lasts more than 5 years. Cast iron yes this new non stick stuff wears off after 1-2 years maybe 5 if it’s made extremely well.

My apologies as I should have been more clear: I’m referring to all stainless cookware. You’re right, though. Non-stick cookware won’t last.

What do you cook scrambled eggs in? Non stick or stainless? Only owned 1 stainless pan from HEB and probably user error but eggs and the like didn’t cook well and other stuff would burn easily.

there is a serious learning curve when cooking with SS pots and pans. It takes several years for the top chefs in the world to learn how to cook with SS. Additionally, gas cooks different than electric which cooks different from an induction glass stove top. SS pots and pans are very temperature sensitive, whereas the ceramic coating P&P are more user friendly and forgiving. The coated P&P will last an eternity if you cook over medium low heat and use plastic spatula or wooden utensils to stir.

I would NOT recommend SS cookware for the average home cook. Magnalite or cast-iron pots and skillets will work just fine and last several generations.

We got Zwilling nonstick as a wedding gift. Been very happy with it nearly 6 years later.
