Thursday & Friday before Thanksgiving there were about 5,000 or so it seemed at my folks place north of Centerville. Every place I sat to hunt had them everywhere. They were about the only thing I saw.

I’ve seen a good population of ringtail in Kinney and uvalde county. You’re right about them being nocturnal as every one I’ve seen was at night.

Haven't seen a box turtle in 15-20 years and haven't seen a vinegarroon in 4-5 years. Also don't see nearly as many stump borer beetles as I used to maybe one or 2 a year only now. I got bit by one of those once and thought I'd been snake bit. They have some powerful jaws. Haven't seen a big black witch month in at least 5-7 years either.
