GM 8 speed Tranny rant

For you guys running 6 speeds they have an updated cooler line thermostat that brings the temperature down.

Actually that transmission, is a first ever joint GM Ford designed transmission. Don’t know who was responsible for what in that transmission. I wonder about the electronics controlling those transmissions in the GM and Ford vehicles. I don’t know what they did there. I suspect they both used that transmission as a way of trying to steal info from the other company.

That would be Ford/ gm not in reverse! Gm couldn’t get it done so they went to Ford!

Yep I had a 2016 gmc Sierra for 2 yrs and traded that son of a gun because of that crappy transmission.

Did a transmission flush and fluid replacement on my 2019 8 spd at 55k. It was having nard shifting and shudder issues then. Fluid change seems to have helped it. Had a 2010 2500 that I got rid of at 150k. Had a 2018 Ram next that had transmission and rear differential issues and got rid of at 18k. Thinking I might try Ford next.
