Season Question
11-19-2022, 07:06 PM
Does this make sense to anyone? What is the purpose of a late youth season if it coincides with general season???

The way I read it, adult season ends and youth can still shoot bucks during their late season. Then, special late opens for does for all.

It doesn't make sense. Someone screwed up keying in the dates.
Youth only south zone should match dates for special late like in the north

The late youth season allows them to shoot any deer that’s legal during the general season. Adults can only shoot does and spikes.

I don’t see anywhere that states adults can’t shoot bucks after a certain date except Jan 15.

Look at how the north zone is scheduled.
Now imagine the south zone is correct. The special late for the south is what the youth only should be.
You may hunt until 1/15 for all then special late is doe/spike

North Zone has extra days for youth that basically match up with South Zone.
They probably listed it on both to seem fair.
Its stupid to stop N Zone earlier any way.

How in the world did you conclude that from the pic above?
It shows general season and youth season ending the same day.
What the heck is “adult season?”

Don't listen to what I posted.
South zone youth runs during the general season. I called TPWD and they confirmed. I also found an old OA from 2015 and it doesn't even have a north/south youth listed. Just a youth season dates.
