You don't have to wit 6-8 hours on liver shot, gut shot yes. He will be dead in 3 hours max. The deer you jumped was probably him, but he will only go about 75 yards then bed again. He will get up and move a couple of times but will bed down pretty quick. You will find him. Good luck in for LDP's
