We don't name many. We have 2 this year that have names. One is a 7 point that is going to be a Muy Grande contender in the 7 point category. I sent a picture to a buddy of mine and he said "Ole Meat Fork". So the name Meat Fork stuck for him. The other one is the biggest deer we have on camera, and we know that a preacher was hunting him last year before we got the pasture. We named him "The Reverend". They tend to get names by us as we physically put eyes on them though.

Grandkids have a buck they named Holy Brow Tines. He's a traveler so he will probably not last long this year. He also loves corn.

Had a piebald show up at my feeder one time. He had a white saddle and 4 white socks Was a little young so he got a pass. Looked for "Socks" for a few years but never saw him again. Only time I've named a deer.

I named this one “John Travolta” after I passed him last year at 17 yards.
I told him it was his lucky day because he was Stayin Alive!!
He miraculously made it through season some how but he won’t be so lucky this year if he poses up again for me.

I’ve never named one, but had some friends that had O’l Mossy Horns. I’m pretty sure any time they caught a glimpse of a buck, with a rack, it just had to be him😁. This was pre tail cams.

I final named a buck I first seen last season and have watched all summer. There are some big events that will follow this buck and I’ll share after it unfolds. But his name as of this morning is
                  ”Felon”

I've been calling this one the French Tickler

One eyed deer we named "Captain Jack" like Captain Jack Sparrow, Fat Boy, well because he was well over 250lbs. Lots of other names, including Macy, because my wife couldn't see him in the scope and I said if it was a Macy's, you could. . .
12 Ounce, because one of the lease mates threw a beer can and hit in the butt and he just turned and watched. Jig Saw because his horns were a jig saw. Basically, we name all of our deer. This year's are King, Splitters and Tall Boy!

Had a big bodied mature 8 point that had a small growth on his side just above his belly. Watched him for 2 years as an eight point and the third year blew up to a beautiful symmetrical 12 point. For those 3 years I named him Nipple

We had a hill country 14 point that we all let walk, but every time you saw him you went "GAW"!! So he was named so. We had another younger buck that was a solid 16 point that we called "BB" because he was the King.

We name most of ours and have named hundreds of bucks over the years. Lots of good names have come from watching college football on Saturdays. We've got a General Booty running around right now. We had a (QJ) Quinshon Judkins last year, but unfortunately I picked up his deadhead in January.

One of my old favorite names was WORC - Waste of Range Conditions - an ancient fat deer with a terrible set of headgear.

Naming them is important. Can't put one on the wall that has a bad name

Had this deer all year in my feedpen while I was laid up last year and couldn't hunt. He's been around awhile with no reason to name him and he kinda blew up. He threw his best rack except he broke off a G-3 early in velvet so he got a pass from folks that saw him as well. His split G-2 without the G3 on that side, looked like one of the old wooden slingshots and the name stuck. Slingshot has been back around this year (with his G3) but not sure how he's going to finish out. Range conditions were pretty poor even though he pigged out on protein.

Any nickname suggestions for this guy? This is the third year we’ve gotten pics of him- rack gets crazier each year. Looks like high fence genetics to me
