    Thermal Monocular

I'm looking at thermal monoculars and want to get a "decent" one. I don't want to spent over 2k. I've seen AGM, FLIR, ATN and all have stuff between 500 and 2k. Which one of those is the best bang for your buck. Really I just want to be able to spot animals 200-300 yards out. I don't need to identify them perfectly but would like a clearish image.

I've youtubed a few different options but its so hard to tell what it will look like in my environment and those distances.

Go with a Bering scope. Then you can use it as a buddy scope. I have an AGM and it is great until there is humidity. Then it just whites out. The Bering brand cuts through humidity better than AGM.

The monocular is a good thing to have since you will use it way more than your thermal scope. I carry mine in the truck and use it constantly. Take it to the blind for when it’s too early or late for the Swarovski’s just to see what’s out there.
I have a AGM TM-25 but like my buddy’s TM-19 better. Very happy using either one.

Ill add this in. I have an AGM Asp 384 that ive had for almost 2 years. Ive used it a lot, but its sat in the safe for about the last 4 months. Took it out before opening weekend and it will not hold a charge, no power unless its plugged in. Not happy at all with their customer service so far. In the last 2 weeks, i have called almost every day leaving a message and have sent 3-4 emails without any response. So, for the time being, I have a $1300 paperweight

Anyone use these to find deer that have been shot?

I just ordered the TM-19. I’m getting a ATN THOR 4 640 2.5-25x for pig hunting hopefully this combination with be good enough to spot and shoot pigs and predators.

Not yet, but I put it in my pack for that very reason.

I hope it works for that

It should. I've used it to look through the timber to see if it would work with this thought in mind for deer and pigs. It's surprising how deep into the woods I could see.

Yes. We try to test it out every time someone shoots a deer in the late evening.

Yes I use mine for recovery…it’s a big help to track down an animal esp when hunting pigs at night
It actually works decent for recovering dove in grassy fields in September

I had been using my buddy’s TM-19 for a while until he needed it back. Very pleased with it. Went to order one for myself and they were out but did have the TM-25 so I went that route. Only difference between the 2 is the base magnification. The 19 is 1.9X base and the 25 is 2.5X base magnification. I like the TM-19 better.
