Went out Friday evening to hunt the cold front and had 4 hogs come in around 530. Finally I got to get a kill with my mathews v3x 33. Arrow set up was a Easton Sonic 250 spine 75 grain insert and 125 grain broadhead coming in at 495 grains total arrow weight. I was trying out the G5 Megameat. I figured the sow to weigh around 110-115lb mark. Which was perfect to test out the megameat on. I have no doubts that it will perform very well on a deer after shooting this sow. I had a complete pass thru and arrow was about 7 yards past from where I shot her at 19 yards. She ran about 65yards and blood was everywhere. Broadhead just needs blades changed and will be good to go for another. Only 1 blade was bent and unsure if it was from hog or hitting rocks after pass thru. The best bloodtrail I've ever had from a hog as I just walked at normal pace and could see the bloodtrail as far as 10 yards ahead through the thick cedars. It was cold, wet, and windy but it was perfect for shootin a hog.
