So ive had an internship lined up since last summer with one of the best fortune 500 companies in the nation. Just found out today i lost the internship........im devistated

Sorry to hear as I know the feeling.

I had a nice Environmental Engineering internship lined up back in college for TXU (or whatever name they had that month ), at their Big Brown mine near Fairfield that I was about as excited as I'd ever been about a job. A couple weeks before summer they went into a hiring freeze..... being so late, it was back to summer school and Albertson's checking out seafood and steaks to folks with welfare checks while I lived on Ramen noodles and 5 for $1 Mac & Cheese

Best of luck finding something else and hang in there. Good things will come.

When one door closes, another will open in it's time. You'll never know the heartache you may have been spared. You referred to Job so I'm assuming you're a Christian and if so, you're future is secure so keep the faith and look forward to the next opening. Don't allow this roadblock to devastate you... you have way too much to look forward to.

That is definitely a setback but at least you are not loosing the war.......i.e, a career that will pay your bills in the real world. Probably alot of folks are going to have that type of news due to the sluggish economy right now.

This economy sucks even for interns. I've been meeting with the career center where I got my MBA lately. MY advisor was telling me he has hundreds of undergrads and grad students who can't internships. He now actually has companies requiring interns TO PAY THEM to be an intern. These companies are nuts!

No reason to be devastated. Hit the road running and find a new one. Be aggressive. Good luck finding a new internship.

Hang in there. It might not happen immediately, but your qualities that landed you an internship with a Fortune 500 company will land you another great job. Be patient, do what you can in the meantime, and trust in the Lord.

Sorry that happened to you but we are just now looking at resumes for internships. What's your major? We are mostly looking for Computer Science majors but I can pass your resume if anyone is looking for what you are studying.
