    Cooking Deer Heart

I fried it in a little oil and some taco seasoning and made tacos out of it. It was really good.

This, with some peppers and onions.

Slap it on a tortilla with cheese and hot sauce!!

Sliced that small, I'd sear HARD in cast iron. First thought when i saw your pic was stir fry. Maybe "velvet'd" with baking soda beforehand.

EDIT: If cooked properly, will be tender either way but cool trick to get that restaurant-tender meat.

This is how to tenderise beef with baking soda, Chinese "velveting beef". Easy, highly effective way to make economincal beef very tender in stir fries.

I cooked one following a recipe Chew posted. Something about heart and wine. I followed the recipe and turned into a wino for a week after having some wine to drink

Next time cut out the chambers and make two steaks. Olive oil and fajita seasoning. Sear to med rare at the most and then slice and do fajitas.

                Delicious...

If it its cut like that I'm going with onions and peppers in a skillet, preferably cast iron. Thrown in a tortilla.

My favorite by far is cooked over a fire whole, wrapped in the caul fat.

Heart, lungs and liver should be left for the coyotes.

I've never been a big fan of organ meat but, I have to admit, everything that's been posted here sounds pretty good!

I’m blessed to not be that hungry. I know people who rave over liver and onions too.
