    I'm a financial advisor and can confirm there are a lot of high fee products out there. That being said, your advisor should be doing their due diligence and creating a portfolio with products that have low expense ratios. Advisors usually charge in the 1.00%-1.5% range, depending on the level of assets, and then there are the internal fees that are difficult to identify at times. Mutual funds have higher expenses and are sometimes tax inefficient. Depending on your goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance, ETF's might make the most sense.
