New Release?

Getting a new release today. Ive been shooting a Tru Ball "Stinger." I love it, but dont like the velcro strap. Im looking into the Tru-Fire Hurricane with the buckle strap.

Anybody got any opinions on the Tru-Fire releases?

I just started shooting a Hurricane with the buckle strap. I really like it. Bought it cause it was cheap and figured I would end up buying another Carter or Scott and making the Tru-Fire a backup but so far I like it enough to not spend any more money! I like their buckle strap design and the trigger seems good out of the package...haven't had to adjust but you can if you want. If you like the Stinger, I am sure you will like the Hurricane. I've always preferred Tru-ball over trufire. You might want to look at some of them. IMO Tru-ball are a step up in quality. Tru-fire makes some decent releases and some truly horrible releases.

I'd go with a Tru-fire that has the flip back head design.

The bull dog buckle has it, amongst others.

I like my Tru-ball titans, but the fold back design of the tru-fires would be a nice addition to any release.

I've got a Tru-Fire Hurricane with the flip back head, and the buckle, and the tab you can pull with your teeth. That's all real cool, but the release itself is a piece of trash. Me, my son, and everyone I've let borrow it has hit themselve in the nose when it "goes off". Completely unreliable and I'll not own another Tru-Fire.

My recommendation is to purchase a Carter 2 Shot. It doesn't look very snazzy, but it's one hellova release and it will help you to shoot better.

I was looking at the release not long ago but wound up getting a Scott Wildcat and haven't been sorry.

They make the Stinger with a buckle...I would just swap over to that if you like the stinger already

I shoot TruBall and love them!! Just a great design in my mind. Any way....... I thought I would try a buckle so I got one. I went back to the velcro because I could adjust it to fit what ever I was hunting in. It might be 70 or it might be 15 degrees so i wear different things during the season.
Try it and shoot what feels good!!

Just got back.

I ended up going with the new TruBall Super Hornet with the buckle. Felt more comfortable and similar to what Ive been shooting.

At least now I have a back up if anything happens.

I have both of the Trufire Hurricanes, the one with the power strap(velcro) and the buckle. I like both of them although the velcro is too noisey.
