Rifle case for traveling

Last year I drove 6 hours in my truck to a location to hunt. It did not take long for me to realize that I had a problem with the rings on my scope coming loose. It was so bad that I was unable to use it and luckily had brought my backup rifle. It too was having problems shortly after using it. The only thing that could have knocked both scopes out was my bouncing truck. It is a rough riding truck that is made for fun and not comfort.

So, my question is there a gun case that anyone would recommend for traveling long distances or any storage tips. Thanks

I’ve tossed crap quality rings and optics in a pelican case and still had issues. I’ve tossed quality rings and optics in the bed of a Can Am and proceeded to chase coyotes and rabbits with the rifle bouncing around freely without issue. I’d fix the ring and optic issue before looking for a band aid. High dollar doesn’t me durable, and not expensive doesn’t mean crap.

I have skb, pelican and rtic double rifle cases. If skb had rtic wheels and latches it would be the perfect case.

I've used all of them all for 2 hour truck rides to 24 hour rides from Colorado to New Mexico. The skb has made its share of flights. Other than a broken latch on the skb (replacement was free) I haven't had an issue and I don't have the foam cut out James bond style on any of them

Yeah, case isn’t your answer. However, SKB and Pelican Storm are both top notch. I’ve flown with both and have not had any issues.

I have a browning travel vault (made by Pelican) and fly at least once a year with it. In 20+ years the airlines have not been able to destroy it. It’s tough.

Yeah, definitely an optic/mounting issue more than it is not using a case. Most of my rifles have never seen the inside of a case and get treated like a red headed step child without issue.

Thank you for the replies, I have updated my rings and put 'blue glue' on them to better hold everything in place. I feel it is better to have a quality case and travel with them knowing things are right when it is time.

My pelican rifle case did great on a flight last year. No issues on zero there or back

I don't want to make anyone angry, but can't believe it's a case issue.

Slipped on fallen aspen and fell on rifle across my back when tired. Simmons still on zero.

Dad slipped on loose downhill gravel hard enough to crack apart his '72 Rem 700 Monte Carlo stock. Leupold VX-II stayed on zero.

Northern Tools sells a brand called Apache.
Seem just as rugged as the big name brands listed above for considerable amount less.
My dad and I got them on sale earlier in the season for a better deal.
