I stuck one to the ground on my way out one evening. He reared up but couldn't go anywhere. I was going to get into the 40's that night so I left him and came back the next day to get my arrow and his buttons.
Probably only about 12 yards or so. I drove up on him on the way to the blind. He coiled up when he saw me so I grabbed my bow real quick and started sending arrows before he slithered off.
Then I went and hunted in a blind. On the way back to camp my Mule broke down so I had to walk a mile or so back in the dark and was thinking about that **** snake with every step. LOL
Awesome, I've been carrying a field tip in my quiver for this same purpose but so far the few I've encountered walking into the blind haven't coiled up for me to get a shot.
