La Mexicana in Sonora is really good Mexican food. I always eat there if I'm in the neighborhood.

Sutton County Steakhouse right off the highway in Sonora was pretty good for breakfast the one time I popped in. Normal fare.

Pit stop in Sonora has some good BBQ. My go to is their pulled pork tacos.

This. It’s not quite up to Lums in Junction standard but it pretty dang good.

El Chatos & Hitchin post are my go to in Ozona. Bryan’s is decent for breakfast tacos.

Stripes… I lived in Ozona still have in laws there. They all are about the equal. There’s a few taqueria on the side streets are the best. There’s a taqueria on the top of the hill is the best but you have to have cash or check. Only thing good about the Hitchin post is you can drink beer.

If it’s open, The Taco Grill right next to La Mexicana (Absolutely horrible the only thing good at La Mexicana is the salsa). I’ve never had a bad meal at the steakhouse. If you’re heading east I would skip pitstop for barbecue and stop in Junction at Blums.

We have different taste in Mexican food, apparently. I ate at the Taco Grill one day when La Mexicana was closed (a Monday). I wasn't impressed with Taco Grill. I love La Mexicana.

But we agree on BBQ. Lums in Junction is awesome.

I hear ya and maybe I’ve just caught them on bad days (been a dozen times and maybe had one good meal). The locals don’t frequent it that much, which should tell you something.

Any of y’all going to the wild game dinner weekend after this? My wife and I will be there if y’all want to grab a beer.

For Mexican food, Lalas is probably the best in Sonora. The Steakhouse is good for dinner and they have onion rings that are fantastic!!!!! The pulled pork nachos are really good at the Pit Stop BBQ. Breakfast is best at Taco Grill. The tacos at the Laredo Taco Co at the Stripes gas station are good, and probably the best deal in town!!!

And Russell, I’m planning to be at the game dinner, probably with my wife. Hope to see ya there!

La Mexicana has been full of locals every time I've ever been there. We must go on different days. Lots of big families on Sundays after church, and most of them eating all the homemade cake for dessert. I haven't been down there in a year or so. Maybe it's changed??

We hunted near Roosevelt for a few years, but not anymore. Wish I was gonna be there next weekend. I'd look you up.
