Worked for a principal that treated me like crap because I wasn’t afraid to stand up to her, and some of the other teachers who were would come to me with their problems, which led to me confronting her even more often. I left last year, and it’s been incredible working for a boss who respects me. That said, I ran into my old boss awhile back, and I was polite, but didn’t pretend I was happy to see her.

Place the fools hand atop yours.
Subvert.
Fool the fool into power.

I guess I wasn't the bigger man. Either that or some of these bosses weren't all that bad. My last boss was there for 7 years and was a total ***hole the whole time to every one on the crew. Seen him 3 years after I retired. He came across the road to where I was pumping gas in my welding rig. He had a big smile on his face. I told him to turn around and go back and get in his truck. He hesitated and I told him he had until the gas pump quit and he turned and left.
