I hopped in the stand at 5pm and by 6:40pm this joker comes within 5 yards of my stand. Due to my heavy breathing, in which the buck heard, he jetted off for 30yds and stopped... I waited for him to get past another set of trees and let the arrow rip at 30yds and connected. I immediately saw blood the size of my fist when the arrow hit... so I knew it was a good solid hit. I couldn't believe that I had finally shot a buck out of the Sam. With only 15 minutes left of daylight and being confident of my shot I started tracking him... I found a drop if blood here. then another there...then my arrow. My arrow had been broken at the tip but it was covered with thick clotty blood. A little more tracking and bingo there he was. I took a timed pic since I was by myself. I got ready for the 600 yd or better haul off dragging this big boy out.
