Sad to hear, he was one of my favorites. We saw him in concert a few years ago and he almost had to be helped to the piano, but when he sat down……..it was the same old Jerry Lee I grew up listening to.

    Great Balls of Fire !

RIP…..I saw him 35 or so years ago at a “Loving Feelings” Concert. He came on last and it was his birthday, he brought down the house with his awesome performance.

1/3 of the best piano playing cousins. Lewis, Jimmy Swaggart and Mickey Gilley all first cousins. Lots of talent in that family.

I didn’t know that. I bet there was a hell of a piano playin granny in the family somewhere.

The original 4 from Sun Records had an absurd amount of varied talents. I read a book about them some time ago. “Carl Perkins Cadillac” is a great Drive By Truckers song about them.

Read about his personal life. It was crazy starting with the marriage to his 13 year old cousin.

Those Cajuns loved some Killer and Chuck Berry

Every hole in the wall juke box from Eleck to Mamou had both on them.

The Big Bopper was first but Jerry Lee covered it. He also had a string of top ten country hits. His life was wild, but no more so than all the doped up bands of the 70s and 80s.
