If I had a bunch of sausage made, I would have totally expected it...

Dad gum Damon that is HIGH. I haven’t paid to have one processed in 4-5 years but basic processing with no sausage or other specialty cuts used to run about $75 from what I remember. They probably charged an extra $25 if brought in field dressed and not quartered.

I think Griffith in burnet is around $180 for basic. Best out there imo

May have to try them. I haven’t had too much luck in Llano since Millers stopped taking deer.

Quote So, you're one of those guys I've heard about that takes his backstrap to the processor?

They are already designed to go right in the grinder just like a piece of spaghetti...Haha
I do it and my son hates it, oh well, I'm the only one eating it so why not make some good sausage!!

$90 for processing (deer was field dressed only)
$69 for 23 BACON WRAPPED fillets ($3/ea. ) packaged 2 per vacuum sealed pack
$77 for 28 lbs. of ground venison mixed 20 percent with USDA pork as requested. $2.75/ lb. (Vacuum sealed in 2 lb. Packs)

We are always happy to explain pricing before anyone leaves any wild game to be processed at our facility. That way there’s no confusion or tongue biting.

I went to rendon meats last year and I believe it was $90 for processing which includes Tenderloins, Backstraps, HQ steaks, Roasts, Stew Meat, Chili Meat, Burger, Tenderizing and vacuum sealing. I went to their site and it is now $100

I did this and took tenderloins, backstrap and had the rest turned into ground meat, nothing added. I then processed my own sausages and stuff.

To me, well worth it for the time saved, personally.

That's what we pay here in Northern VA.

Just a heads up for everyone that has sausage made. Spices and Casings have SKYROCKETED in Price. Processors that didn't stock up on casings are going to be shocked when they see the pricing on casings alone.
BUILD BACK BETTER.... What a JOKE

I picked up my buck today in Joshua. Just steaks and ground meat with no fat. I also had them cape it out which I think is $25 or $30. Total was $140

Shouldn't have been more than $125 in my honest opinion. Ours charges $75 processing fee for quartered deer which includes deboning and vaccum sealing of all steaks and .50lb for ground burger plus fat.

All I’ve ever charged was a case of beer. Usually not much profit left over when I’m done. Should probably dbl my rate.

Unfortunately he doesn’t take new clients. Have you tried Hills of Texas they’re in Llano on 29 they’re pretty good I took a deer last year to them.

Did 80/20 beef on my deer from opening weekend. 16 lbs of beef was 70 bucks alone, 10 dozen tamales and 20 lbs of jalapeño cheese sausage total was right at 300
