Washington on the Brazos State Park

Anyone out of the Houston and surrounding area looking for a nice day trip should consider this park. With a Visitor's Center, Museum and home of the last President of the Republic of Texas it has something to offer. They have a nice picnic/playground area and an overlook of the Brazos River. I would recommend a visit by all.

We took our Grandkids out there yesterday and they really enjoyed it. They are about the same age our kids were when we took them during the 80s.

Here are a few pics from yesterday and more can be viewed by clicking in my signature below.

A few of the Anson Jones home site. People in period dress are there to help.

Very cool. I'll have to take the kiddos out there one day. I bet they'd love that.

Thanks for the suggestion. Always looking for a good road trip with the family. My kids are at a stage they appreciate history now.

It really is a little gem in close for a lot of people and a great place in our Texas history. Glad y'all enjoyed the photos.
