I think you may enjoy this hunting story!!

So I am hunting this weekend by myself for the 1st time this year. I got to the lease about an hour and half before I wanted to be in the stand.

I am setting everything up and go to get my bow out of the case. When I opened the case it was Abigale’s and Hunter’s bow(my kids bows). My bow had been in that case all year so I grabbed it and didn’t even look until I got here.

I start to panic but start to try and figure out a way to hunt. Abigale shoots a Kure so I can adjust it but I don’t have arrows. I look through Abigale’s arrow case and one of my arrows is in there.

I start scrambling and adjusting the bow from a 25” draw to 29” draw. I move peep and only salvaged 3-4” of serving. I barely tied the peep in.

I guess where to set the pins then sight in. I had a 20, 30, 40 yard pin. Everything was falling into place so smooth it only took me 6-7 arrows to sight in out to 40 yards.

I took off to the stand with no time to spare. Deer have been showing up on camera as early as 4:30 this week and I was getting in the stand at 4:30.

It was a slow night but right at last shooting light 2 doe showed up. They wouldn’t come close than 40 yards and I had just a couple min left.

Everything was calm and she was broadside so I drew back took my time. I had a little trouble finding her because of the lighting but once i found her I settled my pin and squeezed the trigger.

I heard the ribs crack when the arrow hit. She ran about 30 yards and crashed down the hill.

I shot her with Abigale’s Kure at 48 lbs. shot with a slick trick standard. Clean pass through and I have the arrow so I’ll be back in the stand in the morning!!

    Crazy day!! [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]
