    Lake O The Pines question

So we are going to take the kids fishing tomorrow at Lake O The Pines, however the wind is out of the south pretty strong. Thinking about launching at Lake O The pines Marina and RV Park just north of the bridge. Yall got any input on this lake or thoughts on my launch point?

I live here, my input is there's no fish here.
I find myself fishing it daily at times, but there are no fish.
White crankbaits, 5-15 deep, have not been productive, there are no fish.
Lately I have been putting in here, and hitting the points, that is best chance to catch no fish.

I captained a high school tourney last weekend above the 155 bridge, we threw spinnerbaits, crankbaits, swimbaits and a occasional trap although much shallower than hatter we also found no fish in 2-3 feet, but somehow finished 13th out of 168.

go slow lake is down and stumps are a plenty.

Launch down by the dam. Plenty of small coves and pockets to catch fish and not worry about stumps, etc.

If you are taking kids then buy crickets and brim fish there are lots of good size brim and are usually easy to find.

Sounds like my kinda place, the ones that have no fish! The boys are fishing in the MLF High School tournament next month, we have never been to this lake so we wanted to scout around for this kind of place exactly, one that has no fish. I am just a bit concerned on the winds that are on tap for tomorrow, how does this lake do with strong south to south west winds?

Thank you for the input, its always encouraging when you find that the spots you had planned to throw have feedback that matches your gut feeling. No fish!

Congrats on the finish last weekend, that is quite the accomplishment!

My home lake as well…. Will be won up north like always but can catchem south!! I’d stay away from main lake with that wind… it can get nasty. Mid lake and north you will be fine. Moving baits for sure…. They’re not “in” the creeks yet

If you go above the bridge, be careful!! Be smart about the boat lanes and idle anywhere else

Honestly it's never really too bad. There are days, but it is nothing like Tawokoni, or Fork.

There is a underwater bridge here that has claimed 1000s of lower units.
                    Just a fyi.

I haven’t been on LOP in a while but I would take it easy from the marina to the channel, it’s shallow. Also stick tight to the boat lane past cedar springs. Keep the poles on your west side. There’s timber at the poles all over. Lance Vick has a chip I think that gives you the lanes as well.

                        Good luck.

Thanks, you catch no fish on the windy banks/ points up there.

We have to hit Tawakoni next, I’m not as excited about that one.

How’s the ducks so far this season? Seeing many around? We are here for thanksgiving and was thinking about chasing wings a few times. Thanks
