That whole area on i10 from the Rim down to DeZavala area is a no go zone, thieves are THICK right there.

True. Nice Hotels, Bass Pro Shops, good restaurants, nice vehicles to choose from.

SAPD has a link to an interactive crime map. It's definitely eye opening to see the amount of crimes.

I head to the national sporting clays tournament every year about this time and am always reluctant to stay at any of the nearby hotels because my truck was broken in to back in 09.

Some years I find other places to stay besides a hotel but this year it didn't work out and am going to have to stay in a hotel.

Of course I don't leave guns or valuables in the vehicle but that doesn't keep someone from bashing out my window to look in the glove box.

Anyway, back to the original question... Can I look at police reports somewhere that will tell me which hotels are the safest and have the least number of break ins?

          Thanks

Take a camper or RV and stay onsite.
It’s the only way to do it. Good luck!

SAPD has signage all over the downtown parking garages warning you that they are unable to do anything to prevent crime. It's pretty sad when the City needs a disclaimer. They know they have a problem and they can't be everywhere at once.

Our big city Texas mayors aren’t worth a flip. Softies on crime.

The only way they can stop this runaway freight train of theft in SA is with martial law! Ain’t going to happen!

Man wouldn’t it be fun to set up a bait truck, hide and wait until the low life’s tried to break in. Then fill their backside full of #9 shot from about thirty yards away. That would be good family entertainment, and I bet it would considerably cut down on crime.

I should keep my mouth shut but I have some creative ideas on how to best handle them.

We drive into San Antonio quit frequently with our truck. I always drive and stay in the truck while my wife and mother-in-law go shopping. I’d rather go with them and stay in the truck then to run the risk of having it broken into or stolen.

What is the deal with Fords or Super Duty?
They easy to break in? Easy to steal?
Or just worth good money to piece out?

My son’s 2019 F250 was stolen last Thurs on the North side of SA. Went in to play miniature golf. Parked where he could see it from the course, walked in, paid and got his balls etc. Walked out on the course and saw his truck drive off. 6 mins or less. Called 911 and the cops spotted it about 10 miles away. Cops tried to stop it but the thieves hammered it. Thanks to SA’s no chase policy they got away.

Well if they stole a Dodge they would probably need to replace the trans before they got to Mexico with it and if they stole a GM vehicle they would probably get pulled over for a headlight being out. They know the ford will get them where they need to go.

Seems like the Super Duty’s sure do get stolen a lot more often than the others for some reason though.

My Ford has been broken into 5 times in the 4 years I’ve lived in this **** hole. I can’t buy land and build a house fast enough. No one cares about their fellow human anymore. The cops in this town should be turned loose to do their jobs instead of handcuffed by this liberal minded city’s administration.

I was told that if I shot a thief then I’d be arrested on the spot, but the same thief would have to be caught 3 times in order for charges to be filed. And even then they would walk in less than 24 hours.

Man yall got me all spooked, we took my son's Dart to the Lamb of God concert last night instead of my truck because of this thread. LOL

Yes, they're super easy to get into.
