    Your best margarita recipe........

    ........for margs on the rocks.
I am looking for something I can mix up and have handy and just add the tequila as necessary.
We'll be down at Port A next weekend.

I prefer original (lime). Not strawberry or mango or whatever.

Post whatever you use, no matter how simple or how compex.

    Thanks

We actually like the italian margaritas better than the regular ones.

6 oz can Minute Maid Frozen Limeade
(then use limeade can for measuring)
          6 oz can Sprite
          18 oz (3 cans) water
          6 oz can tequila
          3 oz (half can) Cointreau

1 1/2 oz Patron Silver (2 oz if you like the stuff by itself like some do)
            1 oz Patron Citronage
            juice 1/2 fresh lime
            juice 1/2 fresh lemon

shake over ice and serve with salt rimmed marg glass (presentation is important)

small hit of Rose's sweetened lime juice if you don't want to mess with fresh fruit... careful.. stuff is concentrated

Best margarita ever - we had these in Mexico and these are the only ones we make now.

                2 juiced limes
                1/4 cup powdered sugar
                1 shot tequila
                1 shot contreau
                glass of ice cubes

The original recipe from mexico for real ones:

                  One part mexican(key) lime juice
                  One part Cointreau
                  Three parts tequila

as the story goes....when it was introduced in the US...some accounts say LA and others say El Paso....it was reduced to one part tequila. I love the original ones....careful...mighty potent.

dont know the exact measurements...you can mix to taste

                    tequila
                    margarita mix
                    and a splash of Fresca

                      1 can frozen limeade
                      12 oz 7up
                      1 corona
10 oz or 3/4 of limeade can of tequilla
                      Sounds strange but awesome.

                          Cointreau

Cointreau has also become very popular in premium Margaritas, often known as "Gold Margaritas". Cointreau replaces the Triple sec in the standard Margarita recipe and adds a more intense orange flavour

                          Interesting. Thanks

1/4 cup of powdered sugar? Doesn't sound like enough liquid to even make a good paste! It does sound sweet, though.

had a lot of success in the past using "Freshies" but I have not seen it on the shelf lately at my local grub store

Combine 1.5 oz. Anejo Tequilla, .5 oz. Grand Marnier(R), and 4 oz. Freshies Fresh Lime Margarita Mix in a pint glass over ice. Shake for 15 seconds (or blend in blender). Pour into a salted margarita glass and garnish with a wedge of fresh lime. Enjoy!

If you are in touch with your feminine side (BOB, please don't try this) the mango mix they make is pretty good too (a bit sweet for my tastes)
