When I paid off our 3 cards of 15 years they let me pay in full for 18 months, and dumped me. I guess I don't blame them. They are supposed to be making money.
I went with 2 cards with a annual fee. Still pay in full every month...

i forgot my payment last month (a week late) but have always paid it off on time before this (past 10 years)...they charged me almost $120 for late fee and interest. I should have called them and asked to dismiss the charges due to my payment history, but also don't want them dropping me, so just chalked it up to them keeping me around and not closing my account

Interest would have accrued from the beginning of the statement cycle until the day you paid. Paying your balance to $0 would still leave some interest due most likely on a final bill.

So, if I hurry up and pay this bill, it should be done right?

This happened to me when I paid everything off this summer and I called or online chatted with a couple of them and told them that I paid off my entire balance on whatever date and I shouldn't have a balance and all cards zeroed me out.

I have only one cc that the wife has for groceries / amazon & what not...it gets paid off every month.

They make $$$$ on every charge so I'm not sure why in the world they would dump you?? Ours also has points that I redeem & put it towards the balance when it reaches $500 worth.

I've never paid interest on my card. They pay me to use it in the form of cash back. No annual fee.
