That bow is overkill…. How many Mission bows have you seen explode?
I have one that did... MXB-380... came un-manufactured... no one hurt tho, and Mathews made good on it...
My wife's Excalibur recurve X-Bow blew a limb tip of on about the 10th bolt fired from it... No one hurt that time either... Excalibur made good on it too...
I know they are good weapons, but I sure do not have much confidence in them... Only 2 I've ever owned and they both have had catastrophic failures while relatively new.

Interesting. I have never heard of the Mission 380.
I try to keep up on crossbows because I enjoy shooting them.
Excalibur is known to have limb issues.
Mission is known to have some of the best built.
7 years running on a mxb 400 with zero issues.

I’ve had limb issues with my Excalibur Micro 335 and M380, but Excalibur made them right with a quick turn around.
I’m currently shooting a Stryker Offspring and had no issues.
My son's wicked ridge developed a crack in one of the limbs and ten point would not make it right. Apparently there was a recall on that particular model and they had to be sent in by a certain date. I'm just glad it didn't blow like some of the others while he was behind it. I'd be surprised if the bow had 30 shots on it.

Thanks Jeff for steppin' in and comin' to my rescue! Yes it was a mxb 360...
the Excalibur was a 380...
My wife had broken her wrist (surgery and the works with plates and screws) so shooting her bow was out of the question... She had shot a big deer the year before with it and it survived... Was bound and determined to get him... I did my research and settled on the Excalibur for it's simplicity and ease of maintenance and changing the string... Opening morning of 2013, with camera rolling he came in... when she pulled the trigger that Excalibur came unmanufactured in the blind... parts went flying... but neither of us were injured, or was the deer!! We were south of Del Rio hunt was over... She asked if maybe someone in town had one... I called around a bit, then remembered the Oasis outback in Uvalde... Called and talked to a little lady there... The pro shop guy (Bobby) was out to lunch... She told me they had 2 one was a MXB 360 and the other one.... I stopped her right there.... told her that the MXB 360 had been my second choice anyway... Ask Bobby to get it all set up and dialed in, we're on the way... Bobby had it shooting good... We headed back to the ranch with new XB, new bolts, the works and $1200 later, after shooting it some with broadheads (razor tricks), we headed out to the stand... 5:45, he walked in again and she skewered him! The MXB 360 actually failed when TMag was using it. I had lent it to him to use when he had his shoulder injury... He took it to Texas Archery (the old Bow Zone), and they got it fixed up right away.
I dry fired mine the other day while I was de-cocking it. I got lucky because the limbs, pulleys and string were all good. Just broke the screws on one of the dampers. Shot it a couple of dozen times since and so far all looks good.
