I use a marker to mark the "off" position so I can visually see if it is on or off

This reminds me I better go see if I need new batteries.

I have a tru- glo pin light. I keep extra batteries in my Bow Case. My tru-glo uses 2 of the hearing aid batteries. I swap the batteries out every year.

I also have a verifier in my peep sight.

        Have you tried a verifier?

        Simple fix hopefully.

I was having trouble seeing pins even w a verifier. I just switched to an EZ V sight and I’m pretty happy with it. I got rid of my verifier and the open sight window picture is very nice. It takes a bit to get used to it , but it seems to work for me. It’s not for everyone, but I’m enjoying shooting again after the switch.

That’s what I buy, I’ve had good luck with them lasting as long as any.

                Just wanted to update y'all.

I ordered 3 different lights. My theory was to find what works best for me and keep the others as back up.

I bought a Trophy Ridge Click Sight, a Viper Charge Rheostat Sight Light, and a Truglo Tru-Lite Xtreme.

I rule out the Trophy Ridge immediately. It is nowhere near as bright as the other two.

I believe the Truglo is the brightest, but not by much as the Viper is very bright as well.

What worries me about the Viper is putting it on charge at camp, getting to my blind, and realizing it's still on charge. Also, it is a click button and the way my bow sits in the case, a lot of weight gets put on my light, as opposed to my sight. So truthfully, I cant even tell if it got clicked on or not. Lastly, it is white. Wish it was black.

The TruGlo Xtreme is very bright, and it rolls on and off doesn't click. BUT it does have a line indicating where off is. On my previous light you just turned it until you assumed it was off.
If you roll it down it goes straight to the brightest light, and if you roll it up (from off) it goes to the dimmest light setting.

I do not know how long the batteries will last in the Tru Glo, hopefully awhile because you might as well buy a new light than hunt down the replacement batteries which are also expensive.

The TruGlo shows backorderd on Lancaster but I got it within a few days. I ordered it well after my original post.

I am not returning the Viper. I believe it is a great light and I would like to use it when I remember to keep it charged. Chances are for now, the TruGlo will be on the bow, and a set of extra batteries in my pack, just in case.

Thanks for your review! It’s sad that in this day and time they haven’t made any progress on site lights!
