Most of the outfitters out of West Texas have excellent operations. I used Stephen West with Desert Safaris and hunted the Chinati Mountains on a true back country hunt. It was an awesome experience, saw a lot of rams and ended up taking a very high end, mature ram.

They are starting to get pricey though.

I hunted axis with him this past summer and really enjoyed him as a guide. While I was there he was waiting to hear back on picking up a large piece of west Texas with a giant herd of Unhunted Auodad. Last I talked to him was in July and he had been successfull in securing that property and is booking hunts now
