Craig just called and said the surgery went well. It was supposed to last 4 hours and only lasted 2. They fused the C4 and built a cage around someting. He is in recovery now and seems to be doing well.

Always love it when posts like this are followed by great news like this! Godspeed for a speedy recovery.
