Yep Rice festival in Winnie is a good time

Also, don’t discount the gator festival in Anahuac… mid September (usually, if not always) during early teal season in September

Isn't there a Dachshund festival somewhere?

Rabbit Fest in Copperas Cove - Usually around the last weekend of April, I believe. It's the last weekend of one of those spring months.

Clute has the Mosquito fest and Freeport has Fishin Fiesta. That's all we got here in Brazosportburg!

Whitney has the Pioneer Day Festival which is every October. You’ll have to call the chamber of commerce to find out the exact date. They will have booths set up in the downtown area and vendors. There usually a parade. In past times they had cow patty bingo. Not sure what all will be going on this year.

They also would celebrate the birthday of Tommy Duncan. No idea if this still takes place. Hillsboro had something also to celebrate the life of Tommy Duncan but he was born way closer to Whitney than Hillsboro. If you don’t know who Tommy Duncan was just look up Bob Wills.

Clifton, Cleburne, and Saint Jo have their rodeo events but it’s almost always during hot weather. Bowie has a rodeo event earlier in the year that can be a little more pleasant if the weather is right.

Walnut Springs had an event where folks rode through town on horseback and out to a ranch where they visited the grave of a Texas Ranger. I believe folks used to bring horse drawn wagons also. It was almost always during hot weather as I recall. Don’t know if this event still takes place.

Muenster has various festivals including Germanfest.

Of the ones in the Hill Country. Great way to support the very local economy and see some local musicians.

I grew up in Weatherford and always loved that one. Also, always enjoyed the trail ride from mineral wells to the Parker county rodeo grounds.

Fulton Oysterfest has been really fun. This year it was just packed though. Still fun but hopefully they expand it in the future to make more room.
